Chris Bennett
Chris Bennett is an English Chartered Surveyor and has been based in Hungary since 1st February 1991. He has always had a Regional role and is currently particularly active in Romania, Bulgaria and Ukraine.
After leaving London University he joined the Inland Revenue Valuation Office as a technical valuer. He then joined Montagu Evans in London as a taxation specialist and, in 1972, joined Richard Ellis. He led their rating department in London and Glasgow and then, from 1979 onwards, their industrial department.
He was also Chairman of the Industrial Agents’ Society in the UK before leaving Richard Ellis and setting up his own development company.
He joined Price Waterhouse in Budapest in 1991 to run their Real Estate practice in Central and Eastern Europe with offices in Budapest, Berlin, Prague, Warsaw and Moscow. In 1994 he left to join DTZ to build their network throughout Central & Eastern Europe. He was the first Chairman of the RICS in Hungary.
In 2008 he joined Europa Capital’s Emerging Europe Fund which specialises in Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and the Western Balkans.
He has experience throughout the region focusing originally on valuation and then on investment and development when these became viable.
