The top limit of the renewable energy sources projects is EUR 200,000
The top funding that can be granted for investments in renewable energy sources projects by the Programme for development of the rural areas is EUR 200,000, by two measures - 311 and 312.
According to the accession agreement Bulgaria is to reach 11% share of the electricity from renewables by 2010.
Within three months out of 10,000 applications for RES sources already have been approved 40% of them with 4,317 contracts. The total amount of the approved investments is BGN 1.2bn, the subsidies are BGN 897m.
Out of all applications 224 projects are only for photovoltaics projects.
Between the two measures there are differences - by the first one can apply registered farmers, the second admits applications from sole traders, legal and natural persons, etc.
Both measures have the same requirements for minimal and maximal volume of the allowed expenditure by RES projects - at least EUR 5,000 and at most EUR 400,000.
The installed capacity should not exceed 1 MW.
