Large-scale infrastructure programme is under way in Varna municipality. The projects evaluated at almost EUR 115m are aimed at renovation of water supply and sewerage networks and transport and communication infrastructure. Some of them are financed through different European programmes. Varna local administration has a qualified team for preparation of projects and holds one of the first positions in the country by number of such projects. Until now there are one approved project by ISPA, five projects by Regional Development operational programme and two projects by Environment. Three more projects await approval. The remaining projects are planned with state and municipal funding. This year Varna has BGN 15m capital expenditure for investments for design, maintenance, reconstruction and new construction of the street network in town. The Ministry of Finances will finance the sewerage of Vinitsa and Galata neighbourhoods worth BGN 1.5m. More about the city, the business, the new master plan and more - in the focus of this issue.
