The investments in Plovdiv airport modernisation is BGN 40m secured by the Ministry of Transportation and the airport operator. The new terminal building meets the international requirements for safety as well as new access infrastructure. The service level is C by IATA with 1,000 passengers per peak hour.
The regular operation will start on 1 Aug. 2009 which is a good sign for the development of tourism in the region. New cargo terminal concession which is to be realized will have its impact too for the local development said the minister of transport Peter Mutafchiev.
