Europe stakes on energy efficiency
The European executive agency for competitiveness and innovations launched a tender for eco innovative projects. The grant scheme is a part of the frame programme for competitiveness and innovations. The goal is environment protection through financing of green projects in all fields of th eeconomy. The budget is EUR 200m for the period 2008 - 2013. For 2009 the amount is EUR 30m and according to the plans 40 proposals are to be financed. The deadline for submission of bids is 10 Sept. The priorities of the grant scheme are recycling, construction, food, green business. Construction is a complex factor comprising different aspects like design, choice of materials, use of natural resources as well as interaction with different social and economic, regulatory and administrative factors. By this priority will be supported innovative products for construction, materials and production processes aiming at more rational use of natural resources and reduction of the influence on the environment, recycling of construction materials after building demolition, innovative water supply systems saving water, etc. All candidates should be legal persons - private or public, registered on the territory of the EU member states. The share of the financial aid from the European union should not exceed 50% of the allowed expenses. The maximum term for execution of the projects is 36 months.
