The operational programme is "Improvement of the Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy 2007 - 2013". The first scheme is for technological modernization in small and medium enterprises, the other is for big enterprises, they are both by priority axes for improvement of the efficiency of the enterprises and development of favourable business environment. The main goal is to stimulate the investments in new equipment and technologies and providing access to professional advice and consultant services for business growth. The grants come from the European Fund for Regional Development, the total amount of each procedure funding is BGN 68,454,050. Bids can be submitted by 12 Jan. 2009 in the territorial sections of Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises in the country. On 6 Oct. already started a procedure for assistance to enterprises to meet the internationally recognized standards, the budget is BGN 19,558,300, the deadline for submission of bids is 5 Jan. 2009.
